When we packed up for our mini tailgate at Saturday’s Hiram-Carnegie Mellon game — which I will tell you about tomorrow — I brought my football along — but I never threw it with anyone. This is an important part of my pregame rituals and … I let the team down.

Or it could have something to do with Illinois being better than we planned. Not totally looking forward to the Fighting Zooks coming to Happy Valley this weekend. It could show what we’ve been fearing all season thus far…

Yeah, I suppose that could be it too. I still don’t have much of a feel for how good Illinois is, because I was following updates on the ESPN Scorecenter app. I think BTN is replaying the game tonight, so I’ll get a look then.
